Bowl Bound is a board game originally marketed in 1973 by Time Inc., owner of Sports Illustrated Magazine. It is part of a line of sports games that are sold under the SI umbrella. In 1978, the rights to the game and limited use of the "Sports Illustrated Game" banner were sold to Baltimore-based Avalon Hill.

The game allowed 32 NCAA I-A teams from 1960 to 1970, including some Ivy League teams, to pitted against each other. For each team, the statistical grid is based on real and specific team strength balancing nine offensive games against six defensive formations. There is a weight probability expressed by offensive (216 results) and defensive dice (result 36) for simplified but statistically informed results.

Two additional teams consisting of 20 teams each, between 1940 and 1978 and 1979 to 1987, were sold before the rise of computerized sports led to the cessation of games in the 1990s.

Updated Bowl Bound charts for the most recent season finish (1966-2009) available at maysfootball.com. The updated graph is also available for Paydirt!

The NFL version, Paydirt , is marketed annually by Avalon Hill for decades.
