Plot

The series is a comedy romance between two high school fujoshi and boys who fall in love with them; much of the humor comes from a stereotypical parody of fujoshi behavior and other otaku topics, and a large number of pop culture references.

Release

This is the first Japanese series on April 12, 2006 in the manga magazine seinen Futabasha Comic High! . The series has been licensed in the United States by Media Blasters. It was adapted into a live action drama in 2007. The series is currently available in English in digital format from JManga under the title "Otaku-Type Delusion Girl . It has been released in French by the trail Doki-Doki Bamboo Edition with the title of Otaku Girls.

Reception

The Media Blasters translation of Fujoshi Rumi was released to a mixed positive review, with Anime News Network delivering the first two whole volumes of B-, stating "There are a number of typographical errors in the first volume, and some plaid text and balloon- balloon lost words in seconds.... Nevertheless, Fujoshi Rumi is undoubtedly one of the best and fastest and best Manga Media Blasters releases in a long time. "Pop Culture Shock also reviews the first two volumes, praising humor series, translation notes, and pop culture references. Sequential Tart calls this series a "friendly little fictional school fiction ball".
