Plot
When the Julian siblings, Dick and Anne learned that they could not go for their usual summer vacation to Polseath, they were invited to spend the summer with Aunt Fanny and Uncle Quentin in their home Kirrin Cottage, in the coastal village of Kirrin. They also meet their cousin, Georgina, an awkward and difficult girl, who tries hard to live like a boy and just answers George's name. Despite an uncomfortable start, the cousins ââbecame strong friends and George even introduced them to his beloved dog Timothy (Timmy), who secretly lived with a fisherman's son in the village after George realized that his parents would not allow him to keep Timmy.
George agrees to take his cousin to nearby Kirrin Island, which belongs to his mother's family. On their way to the island, he shows the shipwreck, which George explained is his great-grandfather's ship. He had hauled gold when the ship was destroyed in a storm, but even though the diver investigated the wreck, gold was never found. After visiting the wreck, the five men arrived on Kirrin Island and explored the castle that was destroyed when a huge storm exploded, making it too dangerous for them to return to the mainland. As they took shelter on the island, the sea threw the wreck of the old ship, put it on the rocks that surrounded the island. Enjoyed by this development, they decided to return at dawn the next day to investigate the wreck before it was discovered.
The next day, five people visited the wreck and found the captain's cabin, where they found some of George's great-grandfather's objects, including the old box they brought back to Kirrin Cottage, hoping to find what was inside. The box proved difficult to open, so they decided to throw it out of the highest window of the house. The box was open, but it disturbed Uncle Quentin. Not wanting to give up on their search, Julian sneaks into Uncle Quentin's study and picks up a box, which contains the old map of Kirrin Castle. The children realized that it was a treasure map showing Kirrin's lost golden location, so after searching the map and returning the box, they made plans to find the gold itself.
To the surprise of the children, they were told that the box containing the map had been sold to an antique collector. The same man also made an offer to buy Kirrin Island. The boys realized he had found a secret map and wanted gold for himself, and started the race for five people to get the first gold. Thinking that the kids wanted to spend time there before it was sold, Uncle Quentin and Aunt Fanny agreed to let the kids go camping on Kirrin Island, and they began hoping to find the lost gold.
Arriving on the island, the five men began to search the ruins of the castle to find the old basement where gold is hidden. Pursuing the rabbit, Timmy the dog accidentally fell from an old well, which the children used to help them find the entrance to the dungeon. Exploring underground, they found gold still in the locked safe. The problem soon arrives, when the bad guy comes to the island in hopes of stealing gold. They arrested George and Julian, locked them in the basement. Unable to find Anne and Dick, they left the island, took a paddle out of the children's boats so they could not escape. Anne and Dick use the well shaft to save Julian and George from the dungeon, and the kids hatch a plan to trap people when they return to the island by boat to steal gold.
Although the plan was wrong, they managed to leave people stranded on Kirrin Island. They returned to the mainland to tell Uncle Quentin, Aunt Fanny, and the police what had happened. Gold has recovered and it was decided that legally belonging to the George family, make them rich and allow them to buy everything they want. George's only hope was to be allowed to keep Timmy's dog, and his parents agreed. George also agrees to go to boarding school with Anne, because she and her cousin have become close friends now.
