Initial years

Louis Rà © Ã… © Sabattier I was born in Annonay, ArdÃÆ'¨che on May 23, 1863. In 1878 he entered the ÃÆ' â € ° cole des Beaux-Arts de Saint-ÃÆ'â € ° tienne. He moved to Paris where he entered the studio Jean-LÃÆ' © in GÃÆ'  © rÃÆ'Â'me (1824-1904) and then Gustave Boulanger (1824-1988). He studied under the Gustave Boulanger in the Acadà © mukus Julian in Paris.

Careers

Sabattier began working in collaboration in the creation of great panoramas, notably Rezonville and Reichshoffen. He became a member of the SociÃÆ'Â © tÃÆ' Â © des Artistes FranÃÆ'§ais in 1890. The first picture of Sabattier about the life of Paris appeared in Illustration in 1895. For l ' Illustration > he traveled to Tonkin, Russia, Abyssinia and then Morocco with Hubert Lyautey. In 1912, he completed a long journey in China, visiting Shanghai, Tianjin, and Beijing during a political upheaval.

Sabattier is simple and gentle, and gets lots of friends. In addition to his dedication to his artwork, he is an excellent linguist and since childhood has a great love of the sea, making a very respectable sea landscape. Louis RÃ © Â © Sabattier I died in Nice in 1935, 72 years old.

Work

Sabattier's work combines elegance, originality and humor. His obituary notes that "his pencil is not sharp compared to Sem's cruel, contemporary images." He is known for his portrayal of the early days of automotive. He describes fashion, visits of foreign officials from rulers and presidents, parliamentary sessions and big courts. He also made very realistic paintings and watercolors from World War I.

After the war, Sabattier traveled to the Far East, from which he reported extraordinary stories in texts, pictures, and paintings. He also illustrated many novels. His wife donated many of her drawings, sketches and paintings to the Museum in her hometown of Annonay, which she often returned for the rest of her life.
