Simhasana (Sanskrit: ??????? ; IAST: Si? h there ) or Lion Pose is an asana.

Etymology
The name comes from the Sanskrit word simha (meaning "lion", and asana (???,? Sana) meaning "posture" or "seat ".

Description
Asana resembles a sitting lion, then the name of Simha (lion in Sanskrit) asana. The practitioner's facial expression was modified to resemble a lion.
The Lion Face Gesture (Simha Mudra) is done with another asana like Padm? There (Lotus Pose), or standing with palms on the waist and legs 6-12 inches apart.
Benefits
Stretching the tongue on the asana has been claimed to help with sound-related difficulties (eg, stuttering) and throat related problems (eg, hoarseness and tonsillitis). Asanas have been claimed to help better function of carotid sinuses, sinus nerves, larynx, and thyroid and parathyroid glands. Carotid bodies assist in maintaining normal blood pressure and heart rate. Respiratory exercise is claimed to help the chest and abdomen.
