Todd Oldham (born October 22, 1961) is the US designer and president of L-7 Designs Inc. The ease, light approach to fashion and style has been known to millions of people through fashion, interior design, books and by appearing on television shows. Oldham is based in New York City.

Biography

Initial life

Oldham was born Jacky Todd Oldham in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1961 to Jack and Linda Oldham. He has two sisters and one brother. At the age of 15, she designed her first dress when she sewed some pillowcases. His father was a computer programmer and his family moved because of his father's job, including a four-year assignment in Iran when Oldham was 12 years old. He moved to Dallas, Texas, after graduating high school. His first job was in the change department at Polo Ralph Lauren. She borrowed $ 50 from her parents, bought a 41-meter white cotton shirt, painted it and collected a small collection that she sold to Neiman Marcus.

Career

Oldham showed its first collection in 1981, launched its first clothing line in 1989 and won the Perry Ellis Fashion Designer's Board for New Fashion Talent in 1991. In 1998, Oldham moved to New York City with his business partner, Tony Longoria. Oldham served as creative consultant for Escada between 1995 and 1997. He launched a perfume line in 1995 and designed a clothing line for Target (2002-2003). In 1995, he produced a line of clothing related to the Warner Brothers film Batman Forever. Oldham designed furniture and home accessories for La-Z-Boy furniture (2003-2007) and served as creative director for the Old Navy.

Oldham designed The Hotel of South Beach in 1999. Currently he is designing a pavilion to the hotel.

Todd Oldham has been widely known by American TV viewers through his many television appearances. In particular, Oldham was the host of the segment "Time Todd" at MTV's House of Style from 1993 to 1999. His appearance at House of Style was credited with advancing his career during the 1990s. an. She has also held Fashionably Loud on MTV in 1999 and recently served as mentor for contestants at Bravo's Top Design.

Oldham is also actively involved in book publishing. He has produced numerous books on various aspects of style for Ammo Books as part of the Space Space series. The books in this series include photos and essays about filmmaker John Waters, an artist compound in northern New York owned by Joe Holtzman (founder of Nest magazine), and off-campus housing Rhode Island School of Design. and Bedrock City. Oldham has also created Hand Made Modern , Unlimited , and other titles. In June 2007, Oldham released a monograph by artist Charley Harper entitled An Illustrated Life .

Philanthropy

Oldham is on the advisory board of the Amazon Conservation Team (ACT), to work in partnership with indigenous peoples to conserve biodiversity, health and culture in South America. He is also on the board of Aperture, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to promoting photography. Oldham has also been involved with Habitat for Humanity, Bailey House, the oldest supporting housing program for people with HIV and AIDS in the United States, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Personal life

Oldham is openly gay.
