History
De Prospectiva Pingendi may be created in the year between 1474 and 1482.
The writings were inspired by the book by Leon Battista Alberti written in 1435 but probably also by Euclid's works. The manuscript then belonged to the Biblioteca Palatina in Parma before being transferred to Biblioteca Ambrosiana.
Most of Piero's work is later absorbed into other people's writing, especially Luca Pacioli. Piero's work on solid geometry appears in Pacioli De divina proportione , a work illustrated by Leonardo da Vinci.
In 1899 the writings were first published in book form.
