Plot
In the book, a young girl named Trixie realizes that her classmate Sonja has the same "Knuffle Bunny" toy she does. When the jealous girls start arguing, their teacher confiscates the stuffed animal, returning it at the end of the school day. At 2:30 am, Trixie realizes that her teacher has given Sonja a rabbit to her, and asks her father to call Sonja's house to exchange toys.

Sonja Bolle of Newsday praised this book for its "inventive illustration style" and said, "Anyone who fell in love with the first Knuffle Bunny two years ago will pounce on this sequel, even if they've grown up ever since." Leonard S. This book was awarded Caldecott Honor in 2008 and is the 2008 Children's Book (Young Book Reader) of ALA 2008. The sequel, and the conclusion of the trilogy, is Knuffle Bunny Free: An Unexpected Diversion.
